Kendall Rae Stump's Obituary
Kendall Rae Stump of North Ridgeville, OH went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at only four years of age.
She endured a valiant 16 month battle with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. She braved numerous rounds of chemotherapy, a ten-hour resection surgery, tandem bone marrow transplants, x-ray and proton radiation therapy, and immunotherapy. She was treated at three different hospitals. Despite all these harsh treatments, Kendall still laughed, danced, played and made the most of each day. She taught us all how to choose joy when facing big battles.
Some of Kendall’s favorite things were swinging on her swing set, Frozen, Barbies, LOL dolls, American Girl dolls, superheroes, princesses, fancy dresses, playing doctor, dance parties, singing, and making people laugh.
She made the most of her time spent in the hospital and loved her caregiving team so much. She often would call them her friends. Dance parties with her nurses were one of her favorite things to do there. She also enjoyed her time with her child life specialists and music and art therapists. They brought so much joy to her day. She was so blessed to have such kind, loving doctors and nurses to care for her. We are forever grateful for our whole team who became like family to us.
Surviving are her parents, Wes and Krista Stump; her sister, Alexa; her dog, Rylee; her grandparents, Ray and Marilyn Stump, John and Brenda Horrocks, Greg and Elizabeth Hill; her great-grandparents, Ron and Lynne Gunther, Jane Gunther, Linda Neely; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. , Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Grace Church, 7393 Pearl Rd, Middleburg Heights, OH, where funeral services will commence at 10 a.m., Friday, October 19. In honor of Kendall’s favorite colors, pink and purple, please accent your clothing with those colors for the funeral. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, OH.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to www.beatnb.org. All donations to BeatNB will go toward research and clinical trials to provide better treatments for neuroblastoma and relapse prevention. These kids still fighting and those yet to fight deserve a chance for a cure.
