Kenneth Bower's Obituary
Kenneth Bower, 88, of Olmsted Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025. Born in Big Bend, West Virginia on April 23, 1937, Ken was the son of the late Forrest Sr. and Opal Bower (nee: Williams).
Ken served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Karen (nee: Crookshanks), with whom he shared a life full of love, companionship, and quiet devotion.
Ken is survived by his caring sisters: Janet Clark, Shirley (Allen) Lieving, Roberta “Sue” (Tom) Prouty, and Beverly (Terry) King; his brother-in-law Robert King; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Forrest (Leta) Bower, Jr., Sharon Harden, Marvin “Buck” Bower, Jesse Bower, Mitchell Bower, Richard Bower, Roger Bower, Phyllis (Frank) Lewis, and Gloria King; as well as his brother-in-law Harold Clark.
Ken was a man who found joy in the rhythm of the seasons and the simplicity of outdoor work. He loved riding his 4-wheeler in the hills of West Virginia and visiting relatives. Whether tending to his yard in the warmer months or shoveling snow in the winter, he embraced each day with purpose and quiet strength. His loyal companion, Cricket—affectionately known as “Cricky”—was never far from his side, and their bond was a source of comfort and happiness.
A memorial committal service with military honors will be held on September 3rd, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum in Sunset Memorial Park 6265 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
