Kenneth Richard Ritter's Obituary
Kenneth Richard Ritter, 76, of North Port, Florida passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 7, 1946, to the late Edward Paul Ritter Jr. and Loretta Ritter (nee Miller). He was a resident of Columbia Station, Ohio prior to moving to Florida. Kenneth graduated from Columbia High School and started working right out of high school at Alcoa, where he retired after 39 years of service working as a tool maker. He actively worked as a gentleman farmer and a local 4-H advisor helping instill the values of farming for the next generation. He was known for raising and caring for farm animals along with rescuing animals in need in the community. He was active on the Lorain County Fair Board for many years. He was affectionately known as the “Egg Man” and sold eggs from his farm, which was known as Ritter’s Critters, to neighbors and local businesses. Kenneth will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 36 years, Rosemarie Ritter; loving father of Kimberly Smith, Kenneth Ritter Jr., Kristen (Jim) Geiger, Nathan (Asia) Ritter, and Rachel Ritter; cherished grandfather of Conner, Derek, Ryan, Natalie, Mitchell, and Reece; dear brother of Daniel (Andrea) Ritter; and a host of extended family and dear friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Karen & Tom Powell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 4 pm - 8 pm at Sunset Funeral Services, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Sunset Chapel.
