Larry James Francis, age 80, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. He was born on October 31, 1945, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to the late James and Betty Lou Francis.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Carole Francis, with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage since their wedding on September 30, 1972. He was a proud and loving father to Kimberly (Christopher) Williams and Karin (Daniel) Hurst, and a cherished grandfather to Matthew Williams, Emily Williams, James Hurst, Abigail Hurst, and Joshua Hurst. He is also survived by his brothers Drew Francis, Steve Francis, and Jeff Francis.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Larry found joy and peace in nature. He loved fishing, hunting, and boating, and could often be found spending time near the water or exploring the woods. He also enjoyed the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle, a passion that brought him many memorable rides over the years. Larry had a soft spot for animals—especially dogs—who always seemed to sense his gentle spirit.
Larry built a long and dedicated career as a wood pattern maker, a craft he approached with skill, pride, and a meticulous eye. Beyond his talents and hobbies, he was known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, always cracking jokes and trying to make his family laugh. His warmth and laughter filled every room he entered. His handiwork and craftsmanship reflected both his patience and his creativity.
Above all, Larry will be remembered for his love of family, his hardworking nature, and the quiet, steady warmth he brought to the lives of those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory cherished by all who knew him.
