Thank you Laura for being a wonderful coworker, trainer, and most of all person. I think of lessons you taught me as I perform my FAA work often.
I met Laura when I hired into the FAA back in 1996 and we worked together at the Cleveland SSC. Although I was in the radar unit and she was in NAV/COMM unit we got to work together quite a bit. She was always very pleasant, helpful, professional, personal. She was a very genuine person who I am blessed to have known. She was - my friend, as she was a friend to so many. She will be truly missed by anyone and everyone who knew her. An amazing person, great technician, and most importantly, a blessing to all who knew her. So sorry for your loss, especially my friend Gerry and also all of your family.
"Rare things are rare, common things are common". This is a phrase that Laura taught me early on in my career with the FAA. I have passed this phrase on to newer techs that I have trained, even in the last few months I have used this several times. I always mention Laura as the tech who taught this to me. My hope is that these new techs will also pass this on as they train techs. Laura has definetly made a impression on me that will last the rest of my life. She will be missed, what a wonderful person she was and I am glad that I got to know and work with her.
