Laura J Penton's Obituary
Laura J. Penton, 75, of Aurora, Ohio formerly of Medina, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2022. She was born on June 7, 1947 in Lakewood, Ohio to the late Alfred Francis and Marilyn (nee DeMaris) Bell. Laura grew up in Bay Village and was a graduate of Bay High School. She attended Bowling Green State University. In 1993, she was named Alumnus of the year by Bay High School and was a longtime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She will be fondly remembered for her creative spirit and natural artistic abilities. Laura’s talent captured beauty in many paintings and sculptures, and she found inspiration for her art through her travels around the world. Laura is most well-known and respected as a business owner, founder, and inspirational teacher of the Medina Academy of Classical Ballet and the Ohio Youth Ballet. She spent countless hours of love and devotion teaching her craft and instilling a love of dance to many youth over the years. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy and light will live on.
Beloved wife of Richard Penton of 56 years; loving mother of Jennifer (John) Brelus and Steven R. (Shay) Penton; cherished grandmother of Peyton, Averi, Phoebe, and Riley Max and Zachary and Luke Penton; and dear sister of Valerie Lambert, Alfred “Buzz” Bell (deceased), Sarah “Holly” Furber, John Bell (deceased), Susan Hamilton, and Scott Bell.
She will be privately laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
