Cheryl Henderson
Lauren Elizabeth Ann, a beautiful name for a beautiful soul. I became Lauren’s neighbor in 1976. At that time she was 13, blonde, happy, and navigating typical teenage challenges. I will always remember her ever present smile and her unique laugh that permeated the air. Whenever I stopped by the family home Lauren would catch me up on her latest goals and aspirations, offer up a homemade chocolate chip cookie, and always made me feel welcome.
Lauren was thoughtful and very kind. Once, for my birthday, she talked her Mom into giving me a pink, Depression Glass, antique cake pedestal that she saw me admire in the family china cabinet. I still treasure, use, and feel Lauren’s kindness-of-spirt whenever I put that cake pedestal on the table. Thank you sweet Lauren Elizabeth Ann for thinking of me.
My very favorite memory of Lauren was watching how fiercely protective she was of her mother Marlene. Lauren and Marlene had a strong bond, the type of Mother-Daughter bond that did not break during life’s hardest moments.
Life went on and it has been years since Lauren and I have had the opportunity to reminisce about life on Craigmere Dr. So many things I should have told her. Lauren is always part of my memories from 32 years living across the street. In fact, the entire Felts Famiy; Wes, Marlene, young Wes, David, Lauren, Grandson Jacob, and dogs too numerous to name, are part of the fabric of my life. I have a grateful heart!
May Lauren Elizabeth Ann rest in Eternal Peace, and know she made a difference in my life. Give your Mom a hug from me, I miss her so much.
Love to all,
Cheryl
