Leatrice J. Koneval's Obituary
Leatrice Koneval, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 20, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John Lesty and Helen Szyilagyi.
Leatrice devoted her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. She spent many years as a labor and delivery nurse at Fairview Hospital, where she lovingly welcomed countless children into the world. Her deep love for children extended far beyond her career, she was an exceptional mother and a cherished grandmother whose joy was found in her family.
She was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, and her faith was an important and guiding part of her life. Known for her kindness, gentleness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved, Leatrice will be remembered for the compassion she showed to everyone she met.
She is survived by her children:
Scott (Kara) McDaniel, Michelle (Matt) Wohlert, Gregory (Allison) McDaniel, Heather (Tom) Hershey, and Matthew (Shannon) McDaniel.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren, whom she adored:
Andrew, Morgan, Natalie, Maxwell, Grant, Arden, Evan, Madeline, Alec, Harrison, Sophia, Ava, Colin, Caden, Ella and Tucker.
She is also survived by her sister, Linda Andrews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 2:45 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
Everyone is asked to meet at the main cemetery gates prior to the graveside service.
Leatrice’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
