Leota Allen Parsons' Obituary
Mrs. Leota Allen Parsons of Hacker Valley, WV passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at home. Leota was born on December 17, 1935, at Diana, WV to the late Lloyd and Bheula Mae Cogar. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Parsons and their two Children, Gwendolyn and Jeffery Parsons.
Leota was one of eleven children. All three brothers and seven sisters preceded her in death. Her sisters were: Louise Wright, Doris Mable Watkins, Ellen Ann Achee, Neva Sears, Mardell Kline, Katrina Faye Darby and half-sister Willavin Sills. Her brothers were Garnet Cogar, Donald Elis Cogar and Delmas Grant Cogar. Also precededing her was two nephews, Michael Cogar and Eugene Cogar and one niece, Linda Watkins Carpenter.
Leota is survived by; two sister-in-laws, Marge Cogar (Donald) of Rocky River, OH and Betty Cogar (Garnet) of Middle River, MD, Seven nephews; Phillip Setterlund and wife Yamileth Setterlund of Hacker Valley, WV, Walter Wright (Jr.) of Hacker Valley, WV, Glenn Ray Watkins of Mt. Clair, WV, Rodney Setterlund of Hedgesville, WV, Dirk Darby and wife Tammy Darby of Cleveland, OH, David Cogar and wife Jackie Dorfler of Lutherville, MD, Stephen Cogar and wife Jean Cogar of Batco, MD: six Nieces; Carol Butchko-Meyers and husband Jim Meyers of Rocky River, OH, Cheryl Cogar and partner Char Stemm of Brunswick, OH, Chrissy Palmer and husband Glen Palmer of Lakewood, OH, Sherry Setterlund of Sun City West, AZ, Alana Thompson of SC, and Stacy Darby and husband Rick Weschke of Parma, OH.
Leota tried to live life to the fullest. She left WV in 1959 and moved to Cleveland, OH to pursue her dream where she met Ralph and started their family and home. She enjoyed music and loved to sing. She had a big heart and was always helping those in need. She loved and cared very much for her family and friends.
