Lisbeth "Betsi" M. Robertson's Obituary
Lisbeth “Betsi” M. Robertson (nee Montgomery), age 70, born in Williamson, W.V., peacefully passed on February 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 47 years to Charles R.; loving mother of Christopher (Rebecca) and Melissa; cherished grandma of Levi and Elise Robertson; devoted sister of Mary M. Zeigler; caring aunt to Jason S., Paul R., James Rusty, and Garnett Andrew, cousin, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her sister, Leslie Kaye Nelson, and parents Retired Chief Warrant Officer James R. and Estaline Kaye (nee Steele) Montgomery.
There is and always was no doubt in anyone’s mind that Betsi loved and cherished her family and her faith above all. She graduated from Huntington East High School and from Marshall University where she earned a degree in journalism. She was a devoted member at Grace Baptist Church for over 40 years, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, librarian, and nursery worker.
Whatever was needed, Betsi was always there. She was so creative and loved her crafts. Her beautiful cross-stitch, needlepoint, and her ever endless crocheting. As her kids would say, she has a never-ending, learning blanket she would never stop adding to and it could cover the neighborhood. Betsi even enjoyed making jewelry. In her quiet time, she loved to pick up a book and read or catch up on her favorite series, “Law and Order”. However, nothing compared to the holidays and events surrounded by all those she loved. Betsi is a beautiful soul who touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by us all. We will see you again.
The family will receive guests on Friday, February 7th, 2020 from 6-8 PM, in the Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, just north of the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, North Olmsted, OH 44070. Betsi will be laid to rest in the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betsi’s name to Grace Baptist Church 23096 Center Ridge Rd, Westlake, OH 44145
