Lois Jean Barner's Obituary
Lois Jean Barner, aged 91, of Avon, Ohio, passed away on August 10, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 4, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of Harry and Lillian Douglas.
Lois is survived by her devoted daughter, Eileen (David) Horning, her adored grandchildren, Michael (Dania) Horning, Matthew Barner, and Stephanie Barner, and her treasured great-grandchild, Olivia Horning. She leaves behind her surviving sibling, Edward (Rodie, deceased) Douglas, who, along with the rest of the family, will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert E. Barner, her son, Robert J. Barner, and her sibling, William (Ruth) Douglas.
An artist at heart, Lois had a passion for crafts and an artistic touch that brought beauty into the lives of those around her. Her creative spirit and love for her grandchildren and great-grandchild were the essence of her being, leaving a vibrant tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever.
A pillar of the community, Lois dedicated over 18 years of service as a volunteer at St. John's Hospital, touching the lives of many with her generosity and warmth. Her commitment to helping others will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

A visitation for Lois will be held at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, on August 19th, 2024, from 11am to 12 pm. A service celebrating her life will follow immediately after at 12 pm at Sunset Chapel.
Lois’s kindness, love, and laughter brought joy to all who knew her. As we bid farewell, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire us every day.
