Lois Elaine Marquardt's Obituary
Lois Elaine (nee Hartwig) Marquardt, age 84, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 20, 2025.
Born on September 13, 1941, to the late Fred and Rose Hartwig, Lois lived a life marked by kindness, strength and devotion to her family. She was a beloved, creative, and intelligent wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend.
Lois is survived by her loving husband, Keith Ian Marquardt; her cherished children, Carole Diane Hendy (Eric) and Kenneth John Marquardt; her adored grandchildren, Gwen, Max, Victoria, and Carson; and her dear sister, Janice Tomcho (Gary). Each of her children and grandchildren brought her joy.
In 2025, Lois and Keith celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Lois graduated from John Marshall High School where she was a majorette, a member of the theatre club and National Honor Society. She received her undergraduate degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and Masters degree from Case Western Reserve. Her career life included teaching and tutoring, including many personal clients. She declined career opportunities to devote time to her family.
Lois and Keith enjoyed winters in Stuart, Florida. Lois was fun-loving, active, and cherished time with friends on and off the tennis court. She was an accomplished painter who was especially proud of spreading her love of art to family and friends.
The memories and love she gave us will be treasured forever.
In keeping with her wishes, Lois will be laid to rest privately at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio. The family looks forward to greeting everyone at her Celebration of Life:
