James Noran
This is her son, Jim. Of course, there are many, many things I remember about my Mom and what she did for me and for the entire family, too numerous to name here. But two things that stand out are the two trips I took with her many years she had finishing raising me and my siblings. In an effort to try to pay her back for what she did for me (at least a little) I took her first on a trip to visit her granddaughter Rachel at William and Mary during the Christmas season. In addition to seeing the wonders of Colonial Williamsburg during the Christmas season, I also took her (and Rachel) to a fancy dinner at the Williamsburg Inn with a speaker who discussed food and wine pairings. Lois never drank a drop of wine in her life that I know of - but she hit it off with the mother of the presenter, and she had a wonderful time. The second trip, a year or two later, was to visit the area in which she grew up around Galion, Ohio. We visited whoever was left in the area among her old friends and relatives, and Jane McClarren Roush (her niece) assisted in preparing a luncheon in her honor. She was thrilled at all the attention she received and excited to see and talk to so many people whom she hadn't seen for many years.
