Loretta Kay Dukarm's Obituary
Loretta Kay Dukarm (80) of North Ridgeville, OH was welcomed into God’s Kingdom on December 13, 2025. Loretta battled Parkinson’s Disease and its numerous complications that ultimately claimed her life. Loretta, fondly known as “Kay”, was born on April 20, 1945 in Cass, WV, to Herbert and Louise Banton.
Kay was an only child, preceded in death by her parents and late husband Norman Dukarm, whom she married in August of 1967. Kay is survived by her two children, son Jason; daughter Jennifer (Harris) and was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren; Nicholas (25), Morgan (22), Wesley (18), and Taylor (16).
After moving from WV as a young girl, Kay grew up in Painesville, OH and attended Harvey High School. She later enrolled in Western Reserve College seeking to become a Registered Nurse. Although not achieving that degree, she remained in healthcare until meeting her future husband Norman at the age of 22.
Kay was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, friend and neighbor. While her primary focus was raising her two children, she was active in multiple civic organizations while residing in Fairview Park, OH. As her children grew, she returned to the workforce in various occupations, including automotive sales, property management, and real estate until she retired.
Kay’s spirit was felt by all those around her. Her love of her family anchored her core values: loyalty and unconditional love. She had a passion for cooking, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her home. Kay cherished her friendships deeply and she will be remembered in their hearts and minds for her warmth and kindness. Her smile simply invited you in.
Kay was an avid sports fan, rooting on her favorite Cleveland sports teams with religion and conviction. But her biggest sports passions were Ohio State football and PGA Golf. Kay enjoyed playing golf, which she did for over forty years with her beloved golf league, forging friendships that lasted a lifetime.
