Louis Joseph Pamer's Obituary
Louis Joseph Pamer, age 88, of Strongsville, Ohio, died Friday, December 19, 2025, at Arden Courts in Parma, Ohio.
Lou was born on December 14, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Louis and Nettie Pamer. On August 16, 1958, he married Dorothy Slys in Cleveland, and she preceded Louis in death. After Dorothy’s death in 2009, Lou dedicated his life to caring for Mark. Lou and Dorothy together provided loving, nurturing care for their son, Mark for 65 years in their home.
He is survived by three sons, Mark Pamer, Steven Pamer (Ann), and David Pamer (Kelly). Six grandchildren, Elizabeth Jordan (Corey), Matthew Pamer (Allison), Emily Pamer; Alyssa Peay (Michael), Michael Pamer (Sofi), and Ryan Pamer; three great-grandchildren, Monroe, Oliver, and Lucas; two brothers, Jerald Pamer (Rosey) and Fred Pamer (Susan).
Lou was preceded in death by two sisters Carol Gorczyka and Amy Blum.
Lou was a 1955 John Adams High School graduate and completed an associate degree from Cuyahoga Community College in Business Management. He retired after 47 years from Kirby Vacuum where he worked in various positions of leadership. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Middleburg Heights.
Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 7171 Pearl Road, Middleburg Hts, OH 44130 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio (Section 47, Lot 220, Space 4).
Contributions may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, The Society (current care provider for Mark), or United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland in care of Sunset Funeral Services.
The family wishes to thank the Arden Court and Cypress Hospice staff for their loving care of Lou.
