Ludmilla Klek's Obituary
Ludmilla Klek, known to always make her presence fully known and required, was not going to miss Christmas Eve dinner with her family because of Covid lockdown. Indeed, she spent it with us all on this Christmas Eve. Ludmilla Klek, unique first born to Alexander Wahlaj and Anna Babiak was delivered into this world on August 7, 1929 in Kiev. During the second World War she and her sister Tamara were guardians to their two younger brothers, Russell and Tony. Ludmilla's extreme beauty captivated her late concrete and unbreakable husband, Wasyl Klek, on the unrelenting journey to freedom of the USA---where together, they both took so much pride in bringing up their young family. Ludmila brought four beautiful lights (sonse's, sunshines) and symbols of love, passion, freedom and devotion into this world. Natalia Rafferty (Rick Rafferty), Alexsandrea Mann (Joey Mann), Bobbie Klek (Sally Klek) and Dr. Paula Luba Klek (Jay McConnell). She will always be remembered by her grandchildren - kotics (little kittens), Maggie, JoAnna, Mary, Claire, Alexsandrea, Bryan, Carrigan, Alexander and her great grandchildren Max, Natalia and her newest, Amelia, as the force of nature that she was; fending off feral dogs to protect Greta the goat, taking them gambling and teaching them all how to cook perogies for professional distribution. And lucky they all were, for Luda was a world class chef. Luda capitalized on her culinary skills where she made many mouths happy at Brownstone Day School - Miss Luda and her magical confections will be forever remembered as the best. Luda will also go down in history as the woman who could do the work of two people. Just ask her daughters and daughter-in-law, Sally. Luda was an avid menu reader, a consummate fruit consumer and a regular hoarder of narrated recipes in feats of culinary inspiration. Luda brought so much good to this world - until the next time.
