Lydia Mae Adkins, 84, of Westlake, passed away May 10, 2019.
Beloved mother of Iva (Donald) Skiles; loving grandmother of Amanda (Peter) Fourlaris, Jessica Skiles, and Molly Skiles; cherished great grandmother of Joshua Bastock and David Kasik; dearest sister of Cletis (Bee) Messinger, Clayton (Kate) Messinger, Mayme Nelson, and Velva Sias; and her loving extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Adkins; parents Roscoe and Myrtie (Arnold) Messinger; siblings Cloves Messinger, Nellie Brown, and Gay Sias; and longtime companion David P. Spears.
Lydia was very sweet, but also feisty and independent. She had a great sense of humor. Lydia was a great down-home cook. She enjoyed bingo, poker, and puzzles. Lydia cherished spending time with her beloved family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 11 AM-1 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, where her funeral service will immediately follow at 1 PM. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070.
