Mae R Gibson's Obituary
Mae R. Gibson, 86, of Brunswick, Ohio passed away on March 26, 2024. She was born on September 14, 1937 in Bellaire, Ohio to the late Charles Roby and Royal Weber. Mae was an avid knitter and crocheter and her creations will be enjoyed by many generations. Her rich voice was enjoyed by family and friends. Poetry was her passion where she found joy in reading and writing. At the age of 51, Mae embarked on a new chapter and enrolled at Baldwin Wallace College, and proudly graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts. She will be deeply missed by her children Gayle (Rich) Hurley, Guy Wilson, Gregory Wilson, and Thomas Wilson; grandchildren Danielle (Andrew) Herrera, Michelle Hurley, Monica Freedman (deceased), Nicholas Hurley (deceased), Alyssa Wilson, Alexis Wilson, Jacob Wilson; great-grandchildren Harper, Harrison, Navairah, Layla, and Zayne, and Emelia; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Carol Roby. Mae is preceded in death by her dear husband Thomas Gibson; siblings Kenneth Roby, Ruth (Tom) Moncrief, and Fred “Skip” Weber; daughter-in-law Karla Wilson. Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from Noon-2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 6245 Columbia Road North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM at the Chapel. Inurnment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to APL, 1729 Willey Ave #1 Cleveland, Ohio 44113.
