Marcia Louise Johnson's Obituary
Marcia Louise Johnson’s life was defined by her unwavering faith, her dedication to her community, and a profound devotion to her family. Born on February 18, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Laurence and Lossie Hayes, she was the seventh of eight children raised in a home where faith and service were the cornerstones of daily life.
A proud 1975 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Marcia’s journey took her to Los Angeles for a time to pursue new opportunities before returning to her roots in Cleveland. She dedicated 26 years of her professional life to public service with the City of Cleveland. Her career was marked by integrity and a quiet, steady diligence that earned her the respect of colleagues and neighbors alike.
Marcia’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her beloved son, Brandon Johnson, and his wife Liz. To her granddaughters, Kinsleigh Elizabeth and Kambreigh Elyse, she was a doting grandmother who cherished every moment spent creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Marcia found beauty in God’s creation, expressing her creative spirit through gardening and a deep, compassionate love for animals. She was a tireless advocate for those who could not speak for themselves, fostering and nurturing pets with the same kindness she offered to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Swan; her brothers, Ronald, Phillip, and Charles Hayes; and her nephew, Jason Edwards.
Along with her son and granddaughters, she leaves to cherish her memory her brothers, Richard and Gerald Hayes, and her sister, Terri Hayes. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by her strength and spirit. The family wishes to extend a special note of recognition and gratitude to Barbara Beall and Carol Boddy for their exceptional love and presence in Marcia's life.
Marcia will be remembered for her unwavering determination, her gentle kindness, and the legacy of love she leaves behind in the hearts of all who knew her.
