Marianne Cunningham's Obituary
Marianne Cunningham. Born January 29, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Joseph and Louise Cunningham (deceased), passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 19, 2025 at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
Marianne graduated from John Marshall High School in 1964. After attending The Ohio State University, she took a job with Travelers Insurance in Cleveland Ohio. She was promoted and relocated to Hartford, Connecticut, where she served as a loyal employee and retired after over 40 years of service. Shortly after retirement, she returned home to spend time with her family and friends.
Marianne loved to travel, was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles, diamond art, going out to eat, and spending time with her beloved friends and family. She had impeccable taste in both clothing and home decor, and was known to have the loveliest wrapped gifts with a perfect bow for all occasions. She loved ducks and was often found gifting or receiving them for as long as her family can remember. She was passionate about helping others, and spent many years volunteering at The Carolyn L. Farrell Foundation Center for Artful Living, where she hoped to spread joy and “make at least one person smile every day.”
Marianne is survived by her sister, Linda (Henry) Dasinger, niece Megan (David) Kalal, and nephew H. Joseph (Amy) Dasinger. Aunt Mimi loved spending time with her great nieces and nephews: Patrick Kalal, Ryan Kalal, Mollie Kalal, Kylie Dasinger, Noah Dasinger, Emersyn Dasinger, and Maggie and Maddie Guzik. Her life was also filled with memory making with a dear friend of over 50 years, Dennis McKay.
For those wishing to honor Marianne, contributions in Marianne’s name may be sent to The Carolyn L. Farrell Foundation for Brain Health: 26633 Detroit Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145.
Friends and loved ones may call on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Services will be held at the Sunset Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 10:00am, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
