Early Life and Immigration
Marianne Longerich was born at home in Nicolschmiede, Germany, on July 16, 1926, to Max and Charlotte Rautenstrauch. She spent her earliest years in Germany, nurturing her love for fashion and developing her skills as a milliner. Her creations were even worn at a royal wedding in Greece. In 1954, Marianne and her family immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, ready to begin a new chapter.
Family and Marriage
In 1958, Marianne married her devoted husband, Karl Longerich. Together, they enjoyed sixty years of partnership, built on love and commitment. Marianne treasured her roles as a wife and mother, finding deep joy in the everyday moments spent with her family.
Personal Interests
Caring for those she loved brought Marianne great happiness. She was known for her enthusiasm for shopping, traveling, and creative pursuits. Marianne’s curiosity and eagerness to learn continued throughout her life, inspiring those around her.
Surviving Family
Marianne is survived by her son, Raymond; her sister, Gisela Meiser, and Gisela's husband, Karl; as well as nieces Ruth, Sandra, and Barbara. She also leaves behind many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Predeceased Loved Ones
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Karl; cherished daughter, Debbie, and Debbie’s partner, Bill; brothers Heinz and Werner (and Werner’s wife, Elly); and nephews Ronald and Harald.
Remembrance and Contributions
Following Marianne’s wishes, the family requests no flowers. In her honor, contributions to any children’s charity are encouraged—a cause dear to her heart. Marianne believed that donating one’s time, wherever needed, is just as meaningful as a monetary gift. The family expresses heartfelt thanks for any tribute made in her memory.
Service and Location
Visitation on Saturday September 6, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Sunset Chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted OH, where funeral services will commence at 11:30 am.
