Keith,
I’m so sorry. Words can’t express how anyone feels when someone so special crosses over to heaven. All I can say is that I always noticed this special glimmer in your eyes when you spoke of her and thought that was so special, it’s something not everyone has. You and your family are in my thoughts and my prayers.

Keith-
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I have fond memories
of Marie and Kathy chatting about education and teaching and sharing stories
about the children-students in their classrooms. Generations to come will benefit
from the contribution Marie made to so many.

Mrs. Ashmus was a wonderful, kind teacher. My children were blessed to be in her class. She will be greatly missed. The Shipley Family
Though Marie was a grade below me, I was attracted to her effervescent, always-smiling, sweet personality. And she was real, honest —no high school subterfuge. I regret we didn’t stay in contact. How lucky her students were over many years to have her as their teacher! May Keith and his family through this most grievous loss celebrate their lives together.

Mrs. Ashmus was my first teacher, and the first teacher of my siblings and cousins as well. I can still remember her sweet and soothing voice almost 30 years later. She really was such a gift to the children of Bay Village. I hope her family find peace knowing that she imparted so much kindness and love of learning to so many young children. We are all surely better people for having Mrs. Ashmus as our teacher.
