MARTY
I believe God brought Patty(my wife) and myself to this small neighborhood nearly 20 yrs ago. I admit, I was not 100% in favor of this, but Patty was able to see the heart of our home and neighborhood we had just been introduced to. One of the first people we spoke to was Marty...I’m sure some of the new families that settled into our neighborhood also experienced this act of kindness from a truly loving person he was. Marty was the Heart of the street...He always offered his help to anyone that needed it. Patty adored Marty and Cheryl...partly because they were just as crazy about Halloween as she was.
Let us not forget who was ALWAYS beside him ( other than Cheryl) was their bundle of love...Emma. Marty and Emma would proudly walk our street and make friends with everyone he met. I’m sure Emma had a part in all of this...also. Marty was a true friend to all of us. His love of “Community” was one of his quiet accomplishments. As I would be talking with Marty...man to man...we always talked about our love for our wives. I know this sounds corny, but it's true. Marty’s face would light up and his eyes would shine as we exchanged stories. There is so much love and respect for neighbors on our street...and Marty was the Heart of it. If I had to describe Marty in two words or less it would have to be “TRUE FRIEND’’ If I had a shot of Bourbon in my glass, I would ask you to join me in honoring Our Friend Marty...May his memory keep inspiring us always...
