Marvin "Mark" Eugene Blair's Obituary
Marvin “Mark” Eugene Blair, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 5, 2026. Born on September 29, 1951, he was the son of the late Joann and Youell "Bud" Blair and lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and the simple joys of country living.
Mark is survived by his devoted companion, Susie Sandrock of Wakeman, OH, who shared his days, his laughter, and his love for the quiet rhythms of farm life. They attended The Apostolic Church in Fremont, OH. He is also survived by his sons, Dylan Blair of Marion, OH, and Jeff (Kyoko) Blair of Gailon, OH, who carry forward his strength, humor, and stubborn determination. His grandchildren—Cheyenne Blair, Melanie Blair of Galion, OH. Melia Porter of Huber Heights, OH. Vanek Smith and Veida Smith of Fairfield, OH were the pride of his life. Mark is also survived by his siblings: Donna Trainer of Cincinnati, OH; Lana (Rick) Barlow of Morral, OH; and Janet Cross of Marion, OH. He leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A man most at home under an open sky, Mark loved living on the farm. Working with the horses brought him peace, purpose, and a sense of connection that shaped his days. He was also an avid sports fan—never missing a chance to cheer on The Ohio State Buckeyes, often with the same intensity he brought to everything he cared about. Mark will be remembered for his warmth, his grit, his loyalty, and the way he made people feel welcome—whether they were family, friend, or someone simply passing through. His presence will be deeply missed, but his stories, his laughter, and his love will continue to echo through the lives of those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
