Mary S Carroccio's Obituary
Mary was born on August 4, 1924 to Dominic & Laura Nolasco. She fell asleep in death on June 30, 22 with her husband, Nick, by her side. She was predeceased by her first husband William (Bill) Saran, her sister Lucy, and her brother Tommy. Her grandson Mathew and his father Joseph Kaulfisch; also, her stepson Dominic Carroccio. She is survived by her second husband (Nickolas (Nick) Carroccio. Her son James (Jimmy) and his wife Eleanore (Ellie), her daughter Jeannette Kaulfisch. She is also survived by her three stepdaughters: Stephanie and her husband Darryl Zadal, Lisa and her husband Joseph Szabo, Bethanne (Beth and her husband Clay Harrell, as well as two step-grandsons: Barry Zadal and his wife Elizabeth and Cage Harrell.
When Mary was about 15 years old, her mom came in contact with Jehovah’s Witnesses, and she began to have a Bible Study. She loved what she was learning and took to the truth immediately. Mary, while attending Bible Study meeting, met a young man by the name of Bill Saran. As time went on, Bill and Mary became close friends and eventually fell in love with each other. They were married on June 13, 1942 and were both baptized on September 20, 1942. WWII was raging and Mary and Bill were going to face a very serious challenge. The summer of 1944 Bill had to take his stand for Jehovah before the draft board. Because of his refusal to enter the armed services, Bill was sentenced to three years in prison. What made this an even more difficult situation, Mary was about 3 or 4 months pregnant with their first child, Jimmy. Bill was released from prison in the spring of 1946 and they were finally reunited as a family. On November 11, 1949 they were blessed with their second child, Jeannette. They bought a house on W. 97th and lived there for 26 years. During 1976 they bought a house on Oakwood Road in Parma. They became members of the Middleburg Hts. Congregation. Sadly, in 1995 Bill’s health began to deteriorate and on August 22, 2003 Bill fell asleep in death at the age of 81. Mary and Bill were married for 61 years.
Late in 2004, Mary met Nick Carroccio while attending the Middleburg Hts. Congregation. They became friends and as time passed, a relationship developed, and they fell in love with each other. On November 5, 2005 they were married at the Kingdom Hall on Ridge Road. They both firmly believed that Jehovah was the one that brought them together. They had many good times together but most important they both served Jehovah together and enjoyed their time together in the ministry. One of Mary’s greatest joys was that she was accepted from day one by Nick’s children. In fact, one of his daughters told her father after meeting Mary: “Well Dad, it looks like you met your match.” They loved her and she loved them, they became her daughters and son.
Mary eagerly awaited the hope Jesus spoke of at John 5:28,29: “for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” We can’t wait for the time when we will welcome our dear Mary back in paradise. Until then she will be greatly missed!
