Mary V Donelan's Obituary
Mary Virginia Donelan (Ginny) passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023. She was born.
in Avon, Ohio and grew up on a farm with her five Mitchell siblings, George, Ben, Raymond,
Marge and Bill.
She talked endlessly about the good times and experiences she had on the
farm, and in later years loved spending time with all of her extended family. She was married to
Dick for 62 years before he passed and was his caregiver for some 30 years. Her
independence lasted for 96 ½ years, a truly remarkable feat.
Ginny was the loving mother of Rich (Karen), Denise Brill and Tom. Dear grandmother of Sean,
Amie and Meghan. Loving great-grandmother of Collin and Althea. Aunt and great-aunt of
many.
She enjoyed volunteering at Fairview Hospital and was a loyal volunteer there beginning in
1971 and ending a few years before her death, resulting in several awards for this. She enjoyed
meeting and helping people and working with all of her fellow volunteers at Fairview. Her
working career included retail at Macy’s for more than 15 years.
One of her endeavors, later in life, was gambling at the casino, where she was ready to go at
any time. This was a passion she enjoyed until a year ago.
All services are private. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital.
