Mary Jo Herman (Mazzeo), age 54, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Born on March 26, 1971, in Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Jo was the only daughter of Sandra Mazzeo and the late Gus Mazzeo. She grew up surrounded by family and friends who cherished her strength, tenacity, and the fierce loyalty she showed to everyone in her circle.
Mary Jo's life was defined by love and devotion to those closest to her. She is survived by her partner, Frank Meznarich; her sons, Donald Herman Jr. and Eric (Kristina) Herman; and her cherished grandson, Ryder Herman, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind her longtime and cherished friend, Shannon, and her dear friend Kim, who walked alongside her with unwavering support through her final chapter. Her loyal four-legged companion, Ollie, was always faithfully by her side.
Known for her absolute devotion and unyielding strength, Mary Jo was a warrior for those she loved. She dedicated herself to caring for others both at home and in her professional life, serving with distinction as the Cleveland Divisional Chairman and on the Local 270 Executive Board. As a workers' compensation advocate for Local 270 UWUA (Utility Workers Union of America), she was a tireless champion for her colleagues. Those who knew Mary Jo understood that she would go to the ends of the earth to fight for anyone who needed her voice, her courage, or her support.
Mary Jo will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her protective nature, and the deep, unbreakable bonds she formed with family and friends throughout her life. Her resilience, grit, and fierce advocacy left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was a force to be reckoned with and a pillar of support for everyone in her corner.
Her legacy lives on in the love she gave and the countless lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
