Mary Jane Strachan's Obituary
Mary Jane Strachan, age 69, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Born on August 20, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Elenor (née Tatarko) and George Oliver McAdoo, Sr.
In 1966, Mary Jane moved from to Hollywood—a change that would shape the roots of the family she would later build and nurture with extraordinary care. She raised four children who were the pride of her life: Dion (Colleen) Strachan of Ocala, Florida; Doan (Andy) Gibson of Ocala, Florida; Gregory Strachan, Jr. of Parma, Ohio; and Jamie Strachan of Melbourne, Florida.
To her family, Mary Jane was the glue that held every piece together. She offered wisdom without judgment, comfort without condition, and loyalty without question.
Her presence brought peace, and her laughter brought light. She lived with a selflessness that defined her character—always giving, always listening, always showing up with a generous spirit and an open heart.
Mary Jane was the rock of her family. In moments of certainty, she was steady; in moments of chaos, she was calm. Her support never wavered, and her love knew no limits. Kind and gentle, she placed the needs of others before her own, not out of obligation but out of genuine compassion.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, the imprint of her love will continue to guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy—one of compassion, strength, and boundless devotion—will live on in the hearts of her children, family, and friends.
She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered.
Celebration of life will be at The Garfield Heights Eagles, 10612 Broadway Ave, Garfield Heights, Ohio on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
