Matthew Russell Campbell's Obituary
Matthew Russell Campbell, 49, died April 27, 2016.
Born in Decatur, Ill., he moved to Wadsworth in 1981 and was a graduate of Wadsworth High School class of 1985. Matt served in the Ohio Army National Guard and was a graduate of Bowling Green State University where he was an active member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He spent his career working in recruiting and was currently employed by Shiloh Industries in Valley City. Matt was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams included the Indians, the Browns, the Cavs, and most of all the Bowling Green State University Falcons. He was devoted to his son, Grayson and served as his Cub Scout Den Leader and most recently became the Pack Leader at St. Angela Merici Parish where he was a member. Matt was loved by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his father, Paul in 1998, and infant siblings, Laura Leigh Campbell and Robert Andrew Campbell; he is survived by his loving wife of 11 ½ years, Wendy (nee Brickner); beloved son, Grayson Matthew; mother, Anne Campbell (nee Morris); brothers, Anthony and Michael (Milissa); sister, Jane Faggetti (Sam); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Linda Brickner; sisters-in-law, Amy Buchman (Jim), Kim Huffman (Jamie), and Emily Brickner; nieces and nephews, Andrew, Emily, Elizabeth, Rob, Mathew, Madison, Sydney, and Maggie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:30 PM MONDAY, May 2, 2016 at St. Christopher Parish, 20141 Detroit Rd, Rocky River, OH. Friends may call from 2 to 6 PM Sunday, May 1, 2016 in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Grayson Matthew Campbell Educational Fund in care of the family, or Cub Scout Pack 401 of St. Angela Merici Parish.
