Michael Butera's Obituary
Michael Salvatore Butera, age 65, of North Olmsted, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020.
He was born August 5, 1954, in Cleveland, son of Angelo and Carmen Butera. Michael was a very proud Italian. He enjoyed playing board games, video games, and watching movies, especially The Godfather. He liked to travel to his family property in West Virginia, where he would ride UTVs and enjoy the company of his family. Michael was a police officer for the city of North Olmsted and served proudly. He loved to teach and inform his kids how to do new things, and that trait was continued by coaching several sports teams, which was one of his favorite things to do. His biggest passion was soccer. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and especially his dogs, Milli, Roxie, and his beloved Bella.
Devoted husband of 27 years to Vickey (nee Smith) Butera; cherished father of Angelo Butera, Joann Butera, the late Aleta Marilla, Amanda (Damein) Bodeker, and Michael (Kimmy) Butera; beloved grandfather of AJ, Sidney, Shelby, Vicki, Sarah, Noah, Kaitlyn, Kaden, Kiley, and Baby Bodeker (Kali) and Baby Butera on the way.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michael’s name are suggested to the Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Ave., Cleveland, OH 44113.
