Michael Edward Galassi's Obituary
Michael Edward Galassi “Bulldog Mike”, age 82, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 24, 2025. Born on January 5, 1943, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Angelo and Eleanor Galassi.
Mike was an advocate for working people, dedicating his career to serving as a Bakers Union Business Agent. Known for his unwavering voice and tireless commitment, he stood proudly as a champion for labor rights. His leadership extended beyond the workplace—he was the former President of the Ohio State Former Boxers Association, always carrying the fighting spirit that earned him the nickname “Bulldog Mike.”
Above all, Mike was a devoted family man. He was his children’s biggest sports fan — always the first one at the game and the first one at practice. Rain or shine, win or lose, Mike was there with unwavering support and booming cheers from the sidelines. His pride in their efforts was unmatched, and he made sure they knew it every single day.
He was a very proud grandfather, beaming with joy over each of his grandchildren’s accomplishments. Whether it was a school achievement, a personal milestone, or a moment of growth, Mike celebrated it with heartfelt enthusiasm.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie Galassi, and his children: Michelle (Bill) Rochford, Melissa (Brian) Galassi-Parks, Michael (Breanne) Galassi, Rachael (Ryan) Fredmonsky, and Vincent Galassi. Mike was a proud grandfather to Ashley, Joey, Mariah, Angelina, Courtney, Isabella, Madilyn, Dominic, Travis, Lincoln, and Tyson, and a cherished great-grandfather to Trevor, Blair, and Antonio.
Mike’s legacy is one of strength, loyalty, and love for his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
