Michael William Kirchner's Obituary
Michael W. Kirchner, 69, of Columbia Station, Ohio, passed away on December 10, 2022. Michael was born on April 20, 1953, to the late Frederick and Theresa (nee Stroempl) Kirchner in Parma, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 46 years, Karen (nee Wagner) Kirchner and his daughters Kiersten (Chris) Franklin and Miranda (Seth) Hickman. Mike is the devoted grandfather to Schriever Bourgeois, David Bourgeois, Westley Franklin, Reuben Hickman and Lucy Hickman. He is the brother to Fred (deceased) (Connie) Kirchner, Virginia (Jerry, deceased) Gilbride, David (Shirley) Kirchner and James (Rose) Kirchner. Mike will be most remembered for his love and devotion to family, above all else. Back in his younger days, Mike was the drummer for “Horizontal Shade!” His best days were spent on a beach jumping waves with his grandchildren. He enjoyed working on home improvement projects with his wife, Kitty. These projects never left enough time to play as much golf as Mike would have liked. But his favorite things in life were holding a sleeping baby in his arms and the laughter of children. Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio, 44070 where a memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, his family is asking that donations can be made in Michael’s name, to UH Seidman Cancer Center at www.uhhospitals.org or to Hospice of the Western Reserve at www.hospicewr.org.
