Kurz Family,
WOW, , , where do I start, , , ,?? I met Mike in 1st grade and we hit it off from day one. I would say after that, we were best buds for pretty much our whole school years. We would walk to and from school, run through Bain Park, sled ride and just hang out constantly. We totally grew up together. What didn't we do, , , ,!!! We had a mutual love for music and mostly drums at first until Mike picked up the guitar in 8th grade and we told each other then, that we were going to start a band, , , , and we did. He was such a quick learn. We were constantly figuring out songs that we could learn, and to this day, I think of Mike and how we learned and played them when I hear them. He carried the rock-n-roll flag for us with constant practicing in his room to "get better". Once in high school, we rehearsed (jammed) every weekday after school until dinner time. Many times, Mrs. Kurz would have me eat with the family which I always loved because of so many people around wrapping up the day. Looking back, God bless Mr. and Mrs. for putting up with such loud music in the basement for all those years. Needless to say , , Mike was my brother from another mother.
Mike always had a way with making the room laugh with his infectious laugh that I can still remember how it sounded to this day. What a riot, , , everyone loved "Mikie K" at a party or just a simple get together with guys and gals in the park. We always found something to do and yes, , sometimes getting in trouble for good measure.
I will miss my brother Mike and until we meet again to "JAM" on the other side, , , BIG LOVE TO YOU AND THE WHOLE KURZ FAMILY.
Your friend,
Sean Furlong
