Michael J. Tarney's Obituary
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael J. Tarney a beloved son. Michael passed away on June 28, 2025 at the age of 48. Born to Lee and Carroll Kimberly Tarney (nee Ryba), Michael was a light in their lives from the very beginning. From a young age, he immersed himself in the family businesses, including Mr Suit Sales, Copper Kettle Marina, Deer Run Properties, and Hold It Self Storage in Lorain.
Michael attended Bowling Green, balanced education and entrepreneurship with remarkable determination. He also spent time aboard the Nautica Queen while in college.
After the passing of Ava's parents; Jeffrey Tarney and Lindsey Myers, Uncle Mike took on a fatherly role with unwaivering love and support with Ava, helping her to grow into the smart young woman she is today. He is also remembered for the close bond he shared with his beloved dog, Bentley.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Leo Tarney, whose memory he carried close to his heart every day.
He will be deeply missed by his parents Lee and Kimberly and his niece, Ava and all those lucky enough to have known him.
