Throughout her life, Michelle's heart was always centered around her family. She was preceded in passing by her devoted parents, John George and Helen Dolores Drapp, beloved husband of 50 years, Robert Edward Coakley, and her caring in-laws, Thomas Lee and Mary Lou Coakley. She was a loving mother to Erin Coakley and Michael Coakley, mother-in-law to Sabrina (Salah) Coakley, a dedicated grandmother to Madeline and Savannah, and Fur Mom to Lilly, who enjoyed their “diva days” together. Michelle also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Jackie (Jay) Gearon, and Jill Coakley Price, with whom she shared a bond of unwavering support and friendship.
Michelle’s educational pursuits were nothing short of impressive. She earned her Bachelor's in Business, Career, and Technical Education from Bowling Green State University. This laid the groundwork for what would become a distinguished 20-year career in teaching. Michelle's passion for education and her commitment to her students' success left an indelible mark on the countless lives she touched. She went on to pursue her Master's Degree in Educational Administration, transitioning from teaching in the classroom to overseeing curriculum and instructional development until retirement.
Michelle's zest for life could be seen in her myriad interests. A voracious reader, she was often found engrossed in the latest novel, expanding her knowledge and escaping into the worlds woven by her favorite authors. She found solace and joy in the act of sewing, creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished as a testament to her skill and artistry, and in playing her favorite melodies on the piano with grace and skill. Gardening was another of Michelle's passions, her green thumb evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her garden each year. And on those perfect sunny days, one could find Michelle relaxing by her pool, a picture of contentment and peace.
As the final chapter of Michelle's story comes to a close, her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the community for the support and companionship provided throughout her remarkable journey.
