Michelle Denise Thomas, age 56, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on March 31, 2026, following a long and courageous journey with illness. She was born on March 17, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William Knight and Bernice Alvis.
Michelle was a loving and devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loyal friend, and beloved cousin and aunt. Her heart was rooted in family, and those who knew her best knew her as someone who loved deeply and gave freely of herself. She enjoyed the simple things in life—listening to hip‑hop and R&B music, watching movies, and spending time with the people she loved most.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Sashay Thomas, Michael Thomas, Marque Thomas, Victoria Gay, Venea Gay, and Rychelle Thomas. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Yanalise, Jackson, Zekani, Khamron, Kayden, and Jaylin, with two additional grandchildren expected.
Michelle is also survived by her loving sisters, Yvonne Ford and Veronica Thomas, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Michael Thomas, Gloria Church, and Earl Church.
Michelle’s legacy lives on through the love she poured into her family and the memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
