Mildred Buddie's Obituary
MILDRED BUDDIE (nee Vido), age 93, closed her eyes in sleep and opened them to Heaven on February 6, 2016.
Beloved wife of the late Raymond and adored grandmother of the late Renee Reininger; mother of Gary (Karen), Darlene Reininger (David), Maureen Miller and Terry; grandmother of Scott, Tracy (David), Kevin (Karen ) and great grandmother of Brittany, Kayla, Jacob, Joshua, Benjamin and Rebecca. Cherished sister of Bernard (Betty). Dearly loved friend and relative of many. Millie was an accomplished homemaker who loved to bake, cook and sew for her family.
Millie met her husband, Ray, at the Aragon Ballroom, where they danced to the music of Glen Miller and the Andrew Sisters. They continued to dance for the next 70 years, making music wherever they went -whether it was clearing the dance floor with their infamous dance moves, square dancing, camping, embarking on another fishing trip or just enjoying weekends in Marblehead, OH with family. Millie spent countless hours helping customers at The Gift Hut and Flowers, her son Terry’s gift shop. Her talent for creating and refurbishing bridal veils made many brides-to-be happy.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to The Renee Reininger Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Magnificat High School, 20770 Hilliard Blvd/Rocky River, OH 44116. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Millie’s life will be at St. Bernadette’s Church, 2256 Clague Rd, Westlake, 44145 on MONDAY, February 15, at 10:30 AM. Friends may call at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, 44070 on SUNDAY, February 14, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Private entombment will take place in the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum of Sunset Memorial Park at a later date.
