Neil R. Mackey's Obituary
Neil R. Mackey, 81, of Parma Heights, Ohio, passed away on August 2, 2026.
Born on December 26, 1944, to the late Eugene and Anne Mackey, Neil was a hardworking man who enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family. He was a proud United States Marine and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War.
Neil was the beloved husband of Annetta Mackey; father of Michelle (Eric) Root and Katie (Matt) Grenig; stepfather of Sharon Miller and David Miller; grandfather of Tyler Root; and step-grandfather of Zavier, Zander, Dylan, and Allyson.
Neil loved hunting with his hunting dogs and enjoyed being around the water, especially riding a jet ski. He was known for his strong work ethic, his willingness to help others, and his sarcastic sense of humor. He enjoyed making people laugh and will be remembered for the fun and laughter he brought to everyday life.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.
