Nevenka Purich's Obituary
Nevenka Purich, born on January 1, 1939, to the late Ive and Luce Sisa, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at the age of 86. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication.
Nevenka is survived by her children, Tony (Donna) Purich and Maryann (Jeff) Mathieu; her cherished grandchildren, Vesna (Joe) Castagna and Julie Purich; her precious great-grandchild, Lucy; and her brother, Ivan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, George; her parents, Ive and Luce; and her siblings, Mile, Mate, and Marija.
Nevenka’s passion for cooking and baking was well-known among family and friends. She poured her heart into every recipe, creating homemade dishes that brought joy and comfort to those around her.
Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Nevenka treasured every moment spent with them, helping to raise them into the strong, capable women they are today. Even in her later years, as she faced numerous health challenges, her fighting spirit never wavered. She continued to care for her family, offering support and love whenever it was needed most.
Nevenka leaves behind a family that will forever cherish the memories of her warmth, kindness, and strength.
A visitation will be held February 10, 2025, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at St. Paul Croatian Church, 1369 E. 40th St., Cleveland, 44103. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
