Nicholas Lessick Jr's Obituary
Nicholas “Nick” Lessick Jr., 81, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, passed away on August 26, 2025. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 18, 1944, Nick was the cherished son of the late Olga and Nicholas Lessick Sr.
Nick was the beloved husband of 59 years to Janice (née Ecke), with whom he built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they raised two sons, Michael (Stacey) and Stephen, who carry forward his legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and family pride.
He was a proud grandfather to Madeline, Heather, Alexander, and Andrew, and a loving brother to Dennis (Linda). He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Virgina, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Nick was preceded in death by his brother Ronald.
Nick’s life was defined by his passions and the people he shared them with. A lifelong sailor, he was part of a sail crew in his younger years and later became a member of the Edgewater Yacht Club, where he spent countless hours navigating Lake Erie’s waters. His love for woodworking was equally strong—he crafted intricate model sailboats as a member of the Cleveland Model Boat Club and built unbeatable Pinewood Derby cars for his sons and grandsons, a testament to his creativity and competitive spirit.
A proud member of Phi Kappa Tau during his college years, Nick valued camaraderie and tradition. He also cherished watching sports with his sons, bonding over games and shared enthusiasm. Above all, Nick was a family man—steadfast, generous, and deeply devoted to those he loved.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at: Sunset Chapel 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Sunset Chapel.
