Norma J Wonder's Obituary
Norma J Wonder, 90, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. Born to the late Byrd Harrison and Hazel Isabel Richmond on August 22, 1934, Norma was raised on a farm with her brother, where she developed a strong sense of independence and resilience.
Norma is survived by her loving children, Todd (Belinda) Wonder and Tammy (late Joe) Novinec; her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Lucile, and Evelyn; and her nieces, Melissa and Mimi. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and her brother Dale (Marylyn) Richmond.
Norma was married to William “Bill” Wonder for 15 years until his passing in 1973. Their love story began at a dance, where Bill asked Norma to dance after she pointed him out to a friend, noting he was tall. Together, they had two children and shared many cherished memories.
Norma dedicated 35 years of her career to Metro Health before retiring. However, her retirement was short-lived as she returned to work at Metro Health and volunteered extensively. She was known for her fierce independence and loving heart, often volunteering her time to Crossroads Hospice, playing piano for nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and contributing to Volunteers of America.
In her later years, Norma enjoyed gardening, growing beans, and maintaining a raspberry patch, sharing her harvest with her children. Her love for gardening was a testament to her upbringing on the farm.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Cardinal Court for their care and support during the past few months.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, 44070.
