Norman F. Grams' Obituary
Norman "Norm" F. Grams, age 69, of Garrettsville Ohio, passed away on September 15th, 2023. He was born on February 26th, 1954, in Cleveland Ohio. Norm attended Bedford High School, graduating in 1972. Preceded in death by his parents, Norman Grams and Christina (Scopellite) Grams. Norm is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Patti (Washington), his daughter, Ashley (Clay) Latham and his pride and joys, his granddaughters that adored him, Savannah, Makenzi and Makayla. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda (Dr. Richard) Courtney, Keneth Grams, Robert "Bobby" Grams, Laurie (Randy) Zickefoose and Karen "Kiki" Grams and many loved nieces and nephews.
Norm always had a passion for collecting items that would bring joy and smiles to his friends, family, and loved ones. Not many kids can say they got to grow up with ping pong machines, bowling machines, slot machines and older arcade games in their living room and be allowed to have friends over whenever they wanted. I remember most of my friends when I was in elementary school and high school saying, you are so lucky. I was lucky. He would always say, "don't you want to have a party soon, what are your friends up to?" He loved listening to their bands play at our house, he loved music and always encouraged people to be creative and do what makes them happy. We will always remember his smile.
Norm had such a big heart and wanted the best for everyone, even people he did not know. I can remember so many times that he would help homeless people by giving them rides where they needed to go or by giving them his last $5.00 for whatever they needed or wanted, even if it meant he would have to go without. He would say, "they need it more than me". One time he sent me into Walmart with a homeless veteran, whose blanket was stolen, so we could get him a sleeping bag. We will always remember how kind his heart was and how he wanted to help those that were less fortunate.
Please join the family in celebrating Norm's life and offering support during this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until noon, at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, followed by funeral service at noon. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
