Norman Roy Ludwig's Obituary
Norman Roy Ludwig, age 88, of Parma Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 4, 1936, to the late Joseph and Tabea Ludwig, Norman lived a life rich in music, laughter, and connection.
A proud graduate of Parma High School (Class of 1954), Norman went on to earn his bachelor's degree in music from Baldwin Wallace University. His passion for music became his lifelong vocation. He served as a beloved music teacher and orchestra leader in the Berea school system, inspiring generations of young musicians. Beyond the classroom, Norman’s talent as a violinist shone brightly—he performed at the Front Row Theater and held the distinguished position of first chair violin with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony.
Norman was known not only for his musical gifts but also for his sharp wit, warm personality, and unmistakable sense of humor. He was sarcastic in the best way, funny, friendly, and always up for a good conversation. Whether on the golf course or at family gatherings, Norman brought joy and laughter to those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Ludwig; his children, Renee Ludwig and Paul (Becki) Ludwig; cherished grandchildren, Emily and Grant; stepchildren, Gail and Sheila; and many other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marian Ludwig; and his sister, Eleanor Maslanich.
Norman’s greatest pride was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. His legacy lives on in the music he shared, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely.
