Norman T. Musial's Obituary
Norman T. Musial, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2020. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia A., children, Mark (wife, Chris), Jon (wife, Amy), Lisa (fiancé, Phil), and Todd (fianceé, Vanessa). He has ten (10) grandchildren: Cole, Connor, Matthew, Adam, Anna, Amy, Tyler, Joshua, Michael, and Jonathan, and one (1) great-grandchild, Corbin. Norman was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and a resident of North Olmsted, Ohio for the past 58 years. Norman was the first of his family to attend college, and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an Aeronautical specification in 1954. He then obtained his law degree from The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, now at Cleveland State University in 1960. He had a long and illustrious career at NACA, now NASA, both at Edwards Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert, California, and the NASA Lewis Research Center (now the John Glenn Research Center) in Cleveland, Ohio, during which he earned five different patents in heat shield technology, and later retired as chief of the Office of Patents and General Counsel. Norm later served the city of North Olmsted as a Community Council President, councilman, President of Council, and then as Mayor. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a long time parishioner at St. Richard’s Church. During his time as Mayor, he also created and was the Executive Director of the North Olmsted Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization to support the current and future citizens of North Olmsted, Ohio. One of his last acts of kindness was to purchase and support K-9 officer, Match, for the city of North Olmsted in 2018. Funeral Mass Saturday, July 25, St. Richard Church (26855 Lorain Rd.) at 10 A.M. Friends may call at Chambers Funeral Home, North Olmsted, Friday 4-8 P.M. Where social distancing will be observed and facemasks are required. Entombment at SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK, North Olmsted on Saturday, July 25th at 11:20 AM.
