Oltea Gumuscian's Obituary
Oltea Gumuscian, 94, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025. Born on October 25, 1930, in Chernivtsi, Romania, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mihai and Paulina Cozubas.
Oltea is survived by her devoted children, Gabriel (Trena) Gumuscian and Edward (Heather) Gumuscian; and her cherished grandchildren, Claudia (Zachary) Wickliffe and Victoria Gumuscian. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Zareh, and her dear sisters, Stefi Budney and Lola Suditu.
Oltea met Zareh when he asked permission to use her sister's land for hunting. They saw each other and it was love at first sight. The two were married and spent their honeymoon on a Motorcycle traveling around Eastern Europe. They spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2007.
Oltea spent her years as a homemaker, perfecting her recipes to always provide a delicious meal for her family and delighting her family with many treasured dishes.
She also had a deep love for nature, enjoying hiking in the mountains of Romania in her younger years. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, where she meticulously cared for her rose bushes.
Oltea's love, dedication to her family and cooking will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
