Otto Albert's Obituary
Otto August Albert Jr., age 83, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away on January 4, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on June 7, 1941, in Manhattan, New York, to the late Anna and Otto Albert Sr., Otto lived a life full of adventure, service, and love.
Otto is survived by his beloved nephews and niece, Edward (Kimberly) Harrington, Thomas (Michelle) Harrington, and Ann Harrington. He was also a cherished figure to his great-niece and nephews, Adeline, Connor, Griffin, Thomas, David, John and Ethan, whom he loved as his own grandchildren. He will also be remembered fondly by his many cousins, and other beloved family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Otto was preceded in death by his sisters Marilyn Buroker and Margaret Harrington.
Otto proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he made a career as a crew manager for Trans World Airline (TWA), a role that allowed him to travel extensively. He particularly enjoyed visiting Europe, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. He lived in Saudia Arabia and Saigon before working at TWA.
A man of many passions, along with being a world traveler, Otto was an avid photographer with an impressive camera and photo collection. He also had a keen interest in radios, especially shortwave and satellite radios. Otto was a devoted soccer fan and loved watching soccer games. He was a devout Catholic, who served as an usher at church. He was known for his sense of humor mixed with kindness and generosity. He was always dependable and helpful towards family, friends and strangers alike.
Otto's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for adventure will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
In keeping with his wishes, Otto will be cremated and laid to rest with his sister at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio. Details of his graveside service are pending.
