PATRICIA B. DUGGAN, age 82, beloved wife of Daniel for 57 years; dearest mother of Daniel, Michael, Pamela (David) Kreidler of North Olmsted, OH, Paula (Chester Sokolowski) of Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Patricia (John Barbato) of Chesterland, OH; beloved grandmother of Evan Hullinger, Chester Sokolowski Jr. and John Daniel Barbato; daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Janas) Baka of Chicago, IL; sister of Geraldine (the late Robert) Peters of Mesa, AZ, the late Joseph (Marilyn) Baka of Naperville, IL, and Eileen (the late Roy) Netahlo of Jackson, MI; daughter-in-law of the late Dr. Daniel and Genevieve (Balthazar) Duggan of Oak Park, IL; sister-in-law of the late Regis (Joan) Duggan of Franklin Park, IL, the late Dr. William (Ann Benge) Duggan of Mundelein, IL, Genevieve (Donald) Hennessy of Naperville, IL., Mary Lee (Dr. Joseph) Burke of Vero Beach, FL., and Steven (Ann) Duggan of Corse, France; aunt, cousin and friend to many.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois, where she attended elementary, high school and college; was married; and worked for 10 years in the executive office of Motorola Inc. She served as president of the women’s board of the Chicago Center for Human Potential, supporting efforts to improve the quality of life for brain-injured children. Relocating with her husband and family to Cleveland, she worked in the public affairs department of Republic Steel Corp., and subsequently became LTV Steel’s manager of employee communications. The job, which she loved, took her into the steel mills, ore mines, and customer and supplier plants and offices, where she conducted interviews for LTV’s print and video publications. Retiring after 20 years in the steel industry, she served as a Loaned Executive to United Way Services of Cleveland.
Died, March 7, 2016. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday. March 11, 2016, 10 AM, at St. Richard Parish, 26855 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to CCF Fairview Park Moll Cancer Pavilion, 18200 Lorain Ave, Cleveland, OH 44111.
