Patricia Ann Yurick's Obituary
Patricia Ann Yurick (nee Petkus), age 78, passed away Aug. 23rd of COVID-19 with her daughters and grandaughter by her bedside at Prince William Hospital. She is survived by her children Chris (Deanna) Korosec, Jeanne Federico, Anita Yurick and stepson Stephen (Kim) Yurick; her grandchildren: Michael Korosec, Joe (Doddi) Korosec, Jessica Gatto and William Yurick; her siblings: Michael (Molly) Petkus, John (Jane) Petkus and Mary Petkus; 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Yurick (1996), her parents, Michael (1997) and Alice Petkus (2013- nee Papeckis) and 684,000 Americans who also were taken by COVID-19.
Patricia was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she raised her children. She loved sailing, camping, beach combing for shells on Kelleys Island, traveling, being with family and playing with grand-dogs Tilly, Reese and Cooper. She then moved to New Orleans in 1997 with her family after her husband's death. She loved the New Orleans culture, food, good friends and Mardi Gras. She worked in a bakery where she was well known around town as "The French bread lady". In 2016 she moved with her daughter to New Jersey and then recently to North Virginia in June 2021.
The Family is grief-stricken by the loss of Patricia to COVID-19 and would like to send the message to please get vaccinated and wear a mask.
A memorial and mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at Holy Cross Church in Dayton, Ohio. Doors will be open for family and friends to pay respects at 10 a.m., followed by mass at 11 a.m. and luncheon at 12 p.m. A following memorial and interment will take place on Monday, Oct. 11th at 12 p.m. at SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK in North Olmsted, Ohio followed by a luncheon.
