Patrick Raymond Yauger's Obituary
Patrick R. Yauger, age 68, of Euclid, Ohio, passed away on November 17, 2025, after a long and courageous battle.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 5, 1957, Pat was the son of the late Eleanor and Wilbur Yauger Sr. He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Lorrie (née Schaloske) Yauger. He is survived by his sister Cheryl A. Slocum, his brother-in-law Jim Schaloske, his sister-in-law Theresa Yauger, one niece, five nephews, and many “adopted” nieces and nephews. Pat was also a dear friend to many, whose kindness and humor touched countless lives.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Wilbur B. Yauger Jr. and Jeffrey Yauger, as well as his brother-in-law Michael Slocum.
Pat lived life with curiosity, joy, and a deep love for nature. An avid bird watcher, he was an encyclopedia of bird breeds and delighted in sharing his knowledge. He enjoyed fishing and boating, and he and Lorrie cherished their time together at their trailer in Clays Park, where they embraced the outdoors. In the city, Pat found joy in bowling, tending to his yard, and spending evenings with friends and family playing cards and dice—often winning with a smile. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, sharing football picks with his friend Jason, and caring for his beloved pets, whom he treated like his children.
Pat’s warmth, laughter, and devotion to those he loved will be remembered always.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Euclid Pet Pals at Euclid Animal Shelter, 25100 Lakeland Blvd, Euclid, Ohio 44132, in honor of Patrick’s love for animals.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
A funeral service will follow on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Chapel.
