Paula and I were good buddies in Girl Scouts. We were a little wild at camp outs. Mrs. Ballas was one of our troop leaders. She was all energy in the halls of Carl Shuler. I aspired to her sense of fashion at that young age. In 1971 in high school, Paula and I were among the first hires at the new Burger King on Lorain near W.143rd. I was happy to work at her side when we shared shifts. For those few years, Paula added light and joy to my life. May her memory be a blessing.
I learned about your passing just moments ago, Paula and I'm deeply saddened. You were a wonderful friend to many with a beautiful heart. You gave gifts that were thoughtful and personal to lift people's spirits. You had a deep, unwavering love for animals and nature. It was nice to accompany you on trips to Huron and many other places. It was a good feeling to know doing those things brought you so much happiness and peace. Your heart was always in the right place. May you now rest in sweet, Heavenly peace. Thank you for everything.
